Trace is an Institutional Memory Tool designed to prevent knowledge loss within professional environments. The software captures, summarizes, and indexes professional context—including meeting transcripts, clipboard snippets, and file metadata—to ensure a company's collective intelligence remains accessible and organized.

By clicking 'I Accept', you enter into a binding agreement.

• Minors: If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent.
• Corporate Authority: If acting for a company, you warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity.

1. Mandatory Consent: Users must obtain explicit consent from all parties before initiating any recording or transcription.
2. No Illegal Surveillance: Trace may not be used for stalking, harassment, or unauthorized monitoring.
3. Data Ownership: You retain 100% ownership of your data. Trace acts as a processor, not an owner.
4. No Reverse Engineering: Users may not attempt to decompile or bypass the security features of the Trace software.
5. B2B Integrity: Official corporate credentials must be used when syncing company-wide memory.
6. Local Security Responsibility: Users are responsible for the physical and digital security of the device hosting the data.
7. Compliance with RICA/POPIA: Users specifically agree to abide by South African interception (RICA) and privacy (POPIA) laws.
8. No Unauthorized Sharing: Company context must not be shared with external competitors or unauthorized third parties.
9. Accurate Representation: Users shall not use AI summaries to intentionally misrepresent the meaning of conversations.
10. Ethical Use: The software must not be used to facilitate any criminal or fraudulent activity.

Trace operates on a 'Local-First' model. We do not have access to your unencrypted data. We do not sell data or use your private information to train public AI models.

We reserve the right to modify these terms. We commit to providing at least 14 days' notice via the app dashboard before any significant changes to data privacy or usage rules take effect.

If you do not agree to future changes, you have the right to export all your data in JSON/CSV format and delete your account before the new terms apply.

Trace is provided 'As-Is'. The developer is not liable for data loss, legal disputes resulting from unauthorized recording, or any indirect damages. Liability is capped at the total amount paid for the service in the last 12 months.
